Skagen Watches - A Touch Of Nord-European Style

Well, if you ever wondered where this name come from, Skagen is a small and picturesque fishing village in the northern extremity of Jutland, Denmark. Here, the perfect purity and beauty of the north explain where Danish design found its unique qualities, and where the international company Skagen Designs found its name.

Skagen Designs was founded by Henrik and Charlotte Jorst, two natives of Copenhagen on the principle that beautifully designed, high-quality objects can be created at reasonable prices. They came to the U.S. in 1987 from their native Denmark to follow a dream: that of owning and running their own business. In 1990 they founded Skagen Designs, Ltd. headquartered in Reno, Nevada. Their European headquarters are in Copenhagen, Denmark. Inspired by the sheer and simple beauty of the Danish coastal landscape, they worked with well-known Danish designers to create a collection of elegant timepieces distinguished by their clean, pure lines and sophisticated styling. Today, Skagen products are available worldwide in major U.S. and International department stores, in over 3,000 specialty boutique stores.

Skagen Denmark is an Official Sponsor of Team CSC and in commemoration has designed the Team CSC watch collection, a Swiss Made line inspired by the athletes of the world's number one ranked professional cycling team. Two of these new styles, the Ivan Basso Red Signature Edition and the Ivan Basso Yellow Signature Edition, are endorsed by number one ranked rider Ivan Basso and have Basso's signature on the dials and case backs.

Skagen watches have distinguished themselves for their sleek, contemporary Danish styling precision Japanese quartz movements, solid stainless steel and solid titanium cases and scratch-resistant mineral crystals. Many of these watches have screw backs, luminous hands, date, chronograph and multifunction and bands of solid stainless steel or titanium. If the bands are not made of metal, than they are made of top-quality leather or water-friendly rubber.

Skagen watches represent a harmonious blend of spirited design, beautiful craftsmanship, and expert precision. All Skagen watches come with the Skagen Denmark Lifetime Limited Warranty. Taking into consideration the more than reasonable price range, somewhere between $85 and $175, the beautiful design and the high-quality of these watches, you can say that a Skagen watch is a purchase you will never regret. So if you want to buy a timepiece which is not to expensive, full of class, yet perfect for casual wear too, Skagen is definitely the way to go!

Budget Men's Watches For Under $300

A lot of people simply cannot afford to buy a watch that is over $300, and that's fine! Even if it's discount luxury watches, especially now with the way the economy is, a lot of people are cutting down on a lot of expenses. However, watches and the watch industry is still an important part of our lives, so we can't seem to cut them out forever. Frankly, there are those people that can be without watches like me, and there are those of you that constantly need to know what time it is. I don't have a watch right now simply because I cannot find the right one for my needs nor my style, but once I do find one, I will be back to wearing on every single day!

Watches, like the Swiss made watches are not ALL expensive. In fact, I think you are going to find some really nice styles and designs to fit your price and bank account. So let's get the show on the road, these are the top watches for under $100! First off we have the Invicta Dive Watch is just under $100 and is stainless steel, which says to me that this company really cares about people such as yourself especially considering stainless steel is NOT the cheapest of all metals out there.

This a sports watch with a side of business style in all its glory. Its sleek, sexy, and professional all wrapped up in one little package. Second on the list is a red little number by Mondaine Evo. The face on this watch was the official clock style of Swiss railways and stations, but Mondaine Evo has created some really incredibly and innovative looking and feeling men's watches. This one has the face of the Swiss train station, but a deep red band that is quite an eye catcher. It's under $170 and is sure to give you everything you need along with the option to customize not only the material of the watch, but the band as well.

Third on the list, is the Skagen which costs about $100 or so. This watch is one of the thinnest watches you will ever find on the market at a mere 7mm and its made out of some really durable material - titanium! The case of the Skagen is very tough, and yet it doesn't have a super macho look to it like some of the other men's watches out there. It is a Chronograph, so you do have the little dials on the side of the watch. Next on the list is a watch by the infamous Michael Kors - though Michael is best known for his career in fashion and style, the watch created here (which is also a Chronograph) is downright extraordinary - not only us this watch nice to look at, but you also have a ton of functions to look forward to as well.

And lastly, a funky little watch called the Penguin - it's stainless steel, rounded square face with a red face which also includes four green dials. While these watches aren't considered discount luxury watches and they don't care some of the more popular and manufactured watches in the world, you can be sure that they will look nice on you, you will like the functions that they come with - and most important you won't have to spend $60,000 to look sharp as a tack!

Is Titanium Hypoallergenic?

If you've been limited to plastic watches because of a metal allergy, perhaps you should look into Titanium. Unlike, nickel, cobalt and chromate, Titanium should not be a source of skin irritation, discoloration or rashes for most people.

Pure Titanium is hypoallergenic and also does not react to salt water, chlorine, sunlight or anything else that can come from your body. This is the reason why Titanium is used in medical implants such as artificial hips and knees. And this is also the reason why Titanium jewelry should not cause any adverse reactions.

As far as looks go, Titanium is a beautiful metal as well as the hardest and lightest metal known to man. And for this reason, it's a very popular choice for jewelry makers and consumers. The Titanium wedding band is a very popular option because what better way to signify a strong martial bond than with the strongest metal. And since it's also the lightest, it won't feel like you're lugging around a ball and chain on your finger.

Titanium watches have also risen in popularity lately. The case, the band and even the bezel of fine watches are often made from Titanium. Top selling brands such as Citizen, Skagen and Tissot are using Titanium in many of their watches. Once again, it's because of Titanium's strength and lightness that make for study, well crafted timepieces.

So whether you have a skin allergy and have always wanted a stylish metal watch or just because you're a fan of the look of Titanium, you can't go wrong with Titanium jewelry. It's hypoallergenic, strong, great looking and lightweight and this combination of great attributes makes for some outstanding jewelry.
